Gardaí will carry out checkpoints in County Kerry today, as part of the search for missing farmer Michael Gaine. The checkpoints will be conducted around Kenmare, in a bid to seek information from the public on the 56-year-old.
Searches are resuming on the Ring of Kerry this morning for Michael ‘Mike’ Gaine, who was reported missing last Friday. Hundreds of locals volunteered to search rugged hills and difficult terrain in the area around Molls Gap at the weekend, however no trace of the missing man was found.
Divers from the Garda Water Unit searched an abandoned quarry and lake yesterday.
The local Civil Defence and Kerry Mountain Rescue Team are also involved in the search, which has seen slurry pits at Mike Gaine’s farm searched and emptied.
