Local Gardaí are investigating the report of an assault which took place on Sunday evening the 23rd of July in Cavan town. According to Gardaí, a man was seriously assaulted on the pedestrian walkway between Main Street and the town car park between the hours of 5.30pm and 6pm.
Following initial investigations, a search was carried out and a male was arrested in relation to the incident. He was interviewed and subsequently charged and has appeared in court.
