A local personal trainer is advising the public to try and stay active over the Christmas period.
Darragh 'Dutchy' Holland is the owner of Dutchy's Fitness in Cavan Town.
He has advised that the period around Christmas should be treated as a "maintenance phase."
The trainer believes that people should focus on doing some movement, and not trying to do burst themselves to hit big goals.
According to the Clones man, celebrating Christmas parties, heavy eating, and heavy training is a recipie for getting sick.
Speaking to Northern Sound, he said that the week between Christmas and New Year's can be a no man's land for fitness.
