He said it's not good enough that people are still finding themselves in these situations.

A local councillor has once again raised the issue of an elderly couple living in Co Cavan who are still without access to a landline phone 11 weeks on from Storm Eowyn.

Cllr Noel Connell raised this case again after he highlighted it last month at the municpal district meeting for Ballyjamesduff,

He said that the elderly couple, one aged in their 90s and one in their late 80s has been left in limbo due to a lack of communication from Eir. The local councillor said they also have the added worry that the red button alarm that they have for security has not been working since the storm hit.

He said it's not good enough that people are still finding themselves in these situations and lessons must be learned but people can't be forgotten about and isolated. Cllr Connell said what Eir have done to the most vulnerable is shocking.
