Over €277 million worth of residential properties were sold across the Northern Sound region last year.
The finding comes from the CSO's most recent residential property index report.
The CSO provided a break-down of the number of home purchases executed last year by county, type of buyer, and value.
In Co. Monaghan, 528 residential properties were sold, amounting to a total value of €180.4 million.
Meanwhile, 912 houses have been sold in Co. Cavan, worth a combined €97.3 million.
In total, 1,440 residential properties have been purchased in the region, sold at €277.7 million.
Out of these purchasers, 349 were first-time buyers.
Nationally, over 71,000 properties were sold to new owners at a combined cost of €25 billion.
