Part 8 planning has been submitted for a new housing development in Cavan Town.
Plans from Cavan County Council call for the construction of 7 new houses in the townland of Kilnavara. The new houses would be located on a site at Kilnavara Lane just outside Cavan Town. Included in the plans is the demolition of an existing house and farm buildings on the site. Seven new houses are set to be built in their place consisting of two 2 bed single storey semi-detached units, three 3-bed two storey terraced houses, and two 3-bed two storey semi-detached houses. Car parking, bicycle and bin storage and the re-alignment of the public road along with the formation of roadside lay-by parking are also included. New pedestrian footpaths, a link path with the existing one from Kilnavara Heights, open green space and a crossing point make up the final part of the application. Submissions or observations relating to the proposed development can be made in writing to the Housing Construction Section at Cavan Courthouse before 4pm on April 24th.
A portal is also open online where full details of the plans can be viewed, with submissions closing at 4pm on April 24th.
