Concerns have been raised over vandalism which took place in the Glaslough area over the weekend. Locals from the village along with members of the Glaslough Tidy Towns group have been left "devastated" after a sensory garden was maliciously vandalised. Due to the extent of damage caused, the popular amenity is now closed to members of the public whilst repairs take place. Gardai in Emyvale have been notified and are now investigating the incident.
Louise Duffy is a volunteer with the award-winning Glaslough Tidy Towns group. Speaking to Northern Sound, Louise said the sensory garden is a "much needed resource" not only in the village but across Co Monaghan as a whole. Louise said it is "deeply upsetting" that sensory users will not be able to avail of this special place until repair works are complete.
