Plans to deal with a number of derelict housing units described as an eye sore in Ballyjamesduff is advancing.
Five properties on the Cavan Rd are now at design stage by Cavan County Council.
The local authority issued a Compulsory Purchase Order in respect of the cluster of derelict houses in Ballyjamesduff in 2023.
The local authority also issued an order to purchase lands at the same location in the County Cavan town.
The 0.6316 hectares of land is described as being overgrown located at the rear of the row of derelict houses.
The five terrace properties are located in Derrylurgan and opposite the Rassan Road junction.
Cavan County Council say these sites will be used for age friendly housing that will then be utilised for social dwellings.
