The Northern Sound region is being urged to be mindful of using pesticides as the summer approaches.
The National Pesticides and Drinking Water Action Group is asking the public and farmers in particular to be conscious of the risks pesticides pose on local water supplies.
Last year, it detected pesticide exceedances 66 times in 22 public drinking water supplies, three of these located in water tested from the Cavan Regional Water Supply Scheme.
Uisce Éireann has been examining water quality in Cavan's Erne-Larah catchment group and monitoring progress.
