Listen Back: Unique fundraising idea abseiling down Carrickmacross Church. A local reverend will be abseiling down St Finbarr's Church of Ireland in Carrickmacross in an effort to raise funds.
Rev Ian Cruickshank says he embarked on fundraising to do some work on the clock tower in St. Finbarr’s.
The clock was out of order for a number of months and it became apparent how much of a focus the tower is to so many in the town.
Rev Ian says the right thing to do is some restoration work to enhance the church, but also as it is a main focal point in Carrickmacross.
To help raise funds for the renovation work on the church clock tower, the Scotsman will be abseiling down the tower.
Being Scottish and as the event will be taking place on Sunday 30th November, St Andrews Day, the proper attire will be worn, a Kilt in the Black Stewart Tartan.
The planned decent will begin at 2:30pm and all are welcome to attend and Ronan Gargan has been speaking in detail swith Rev Ian about his fundraising challenge.
