An appeal has been issued over a number of stolen machinery items from Ballyhaise in Co Cavan.
The theft occurred around 4.30am yesterday morning from an outer farm yard close to Ballyhaise Agricultural College at the One Tree.
A Scorpion grab, a MDE Kola 400 shears and a 140 McCullagh yellow mulcher were taken during the break-in on St Patrick's Day morning. According to the machinery owner, Oliver O'Reilly, the gate was forced opened and the lock and chain removed.
A digger on the site of the farmyard was used to load the equipment on to what is being described a double axle vehicle.
Oliver says tyre tracks would suggest that the vehicle then turned in the direction of Redhills. He is appealing to anyone in the wider area to look at their CCTV to help in the return of the equipment that cost up to 40,000 euro. He joined Ronan Gargan earlier.
