David Crosby said while its been a long time coming, this week is a milestone in organ donation.
David says the new law will reduce waiting times, reduce waiting lists and will allow more people live on through the gift of life.
The local man lost three of his siblings to breathing problems, is urging everyone to have that conversation with loved ones surrounding organ donation.
From Tuesday, it will be assumed that a person wants to donate their organs when they die unless they have objected to the process while they were still alive.
It is believed the new system will increase the donor pool of organs for over 600 people currently on the donor list.
