Listen Back: 'Pen the Pain' poetry book launched in Virginia. A collection of poetry created via the Art of Life project Pen the Pain launched today in Virginia Library.
The Art of Life is a shared island project funded through Cavan County Council and Creative Ireland.
Moreover, it aims to normalise discussions about death and dying; to encourage end of life care planning through creativity.
Furthermore, the collection brings together the works of Ann O'Donoghue, Bob Gilbert, Brian McDermott and Helen Keenan.
Over a four week period, Helen Keenan helped those involved create poetry in a non-traditional way, with the aim of normalising death and making it less scary.
Indeed, Helen believes that creativity can have a real impact, helping people to process and express emotion, maintain human connection and to make sense of their experiences.
