A young Co Cavan woman is encouraging people across the region to support Daffodil Day for the Irish Cancer Society.
Orlaith Lennon says cancer has impacted her life in the most personal way, losing both her parents, Margaret and Micheal Lennon, to cancer.
She says you never truly understand the impact of a cancer diagnosis until it becomes part of your everyday life.
Funds raised today will go directly towards vital services such as the Support Line, counselling, transport to treatment, financial support, and life changing cancer research.
Orlaith is outside SuperValu in Bailieboro today to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society and she also has a fundraising page set up that has already amassed over €10,000.
Ronan Gargan first asked her if this was the first time she has raised money for the charity.
