Monaghan County Council has said it would like to see the use of eParking grow to 40 per cent over time.

13 per cent of all pay parking income in Monaghan town is coming from the new cashless system.

With the promotion of the service beginning in June of last year, that figure gradually increased as did the number of users and transactions.

March 2022 was the month that saw the greatest proportion of parking fee income coming from the online system, when it made 13.72 per cent of all takings.

That was €5,228.94 from a total income of just over €38,000.
