Cavan's death toll from Covid-19 per population is the highest in the country.

Cavan has had 92 Covid-19 related deaths, Monaghan has had 69, Roscommon has had 46, Longford 17 and leitrim has had 13 recorded deaths as a result of Covid-19.

Figures compiled by the Department of Health for the Irish Independent show the county's death rate per 100,000 people is 120,

Nationally the figure is 83.5 per 100,000 people, while Monaghan had a death rate of 112.4 per 100,000 people.

Roscommon has the highest rate in the Shannonside region with 71.3 per 100,000 people.

The rate of Covid-19 deaths is 41.6 per 100,000 in Longford and 40.6 in leitrim

Dublin has recorded 1,476 deaths, the highest overall number of the 3,978 deaths reported in the republic up until February 23th.

Sligo has the lowest rate of Covid-19 deaths with 25.9 per 100,000 of population recorded.
