524 drivers were caught speeding on the country's roads yesterday.

2022 is on course for an increase in road deaths, according to Gardai.

128 people have died in crashes so far this year, that compares to a total of 136 people who died on Irish roads last year.

It was a terrible week on Monaghan roads with three people who lost their lives on the county roads.

It comes as 524 drivers were caught speeding on the country's roads yesterday.

Gardaí speed-checked 98,184 vehicles yesterday, as part of the October Bank Holiday weekend road safety operation.
