A pet is for life and not just for Christmas.' That's according to Aoife Flanagan who is a vet from the Cavan vet clinic in Corlurgan Business Park in Cavan.
She is offering advice to people across the region on what to do if you are welcoming a new addition to your home this Christmas.

Christmas is often the time of year where dogs, cats, and other animals are at the top of wish lists.
The local vet says while puppies are lovely, they do grow up and don't remain as a puppies forever.
