'Significant further information has been received in respect of the appeal'

A decision is expected in October by An Bord Pleanala on whether or not the construction of 26 homes overlooking Killymooney Lough in Cavan will come to fruition.

The development will include demolishing an existing derelict dwelling house and constructing 26 3-bed semi-detached dwellings.

Last year Cavan County Council granted planning permission for the development to Galetech Sustainable Living.

However, that decision was appealed to An Bord Pleanala following objections from Friends of Killymooney Lough, Eithne and Seán Gurhy, Friends of the Irish Environment, and Gareth Talbot.

The planning authority, meanwhile, says "significant further information" has been received in respect of the appeal.

This includes a Natura Impact Statement as well as revised development plans.
