A petition has been signed by a number of residents.

Calls have been made for an extension of a footpath on the Kells Road in Bailieborough over safety concerns.

Aontu's Sarah O'Reilly asked if a suitable funding scheme, like the Active Travel Scheme, could be utilised to extend the path which has two housing developments in close proximity.

She said one resident is visually impaired and the lack of a proper walkway is impacting on their quality of life and a number of residents have also signed a petition highlighting the problem.

Members of the executive said they would look into costings for the proposal but that their priority is working on paths in the town's core.
