Calls to upskill tourist office points across local libraries were made at a recent meeting of Monaghan County Council. Cllr Raymond Aughey highlighted how a specific tourist information point in each library would benefit tourists.
He said it would afford them access to information on a more wide-scale basis because of the opening times of libraries across Co Monaghan. Director of Finances, Olga Curry, said the suggestion was both worthwhile and made sense.
She added it would work well at the new Monaghan library, located at the Peace Campus which is close to the bus station - a key point for tourists.
