Cavan and Monaghan to host events for Cruinniu na nÓg this weekend

Cruinniu na nÓg takes place across the country today.

It is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme's Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.

There are a number of events taking place throughout the region in conjunction with Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) to mark the occasion.

Joanne Brennan is the Arts and Education Officer for CMETB.

She told Shannonside Northern Sound the local events give young people the opportunity to explore their creative side and learn more about their culture and heritage.
