Concerns highlighted over busy Virginia junction

A Cavan county councillor has called for an update on proposed works for the junction at Bailieboro road, Virginia.

Resurfacing works are planned for later this year, but TP O'Reilly says further safety measures are needed.

He noted that the lights on the Dublin side are set too far back, leading to confusion and tailbacks that block traffic exiting the Bailieboro  road.

The Fine Gael Councillor said that a lot of the issues come down to the volumes of traffic on the road.

Speaking to Northern Sound Cllr O'Reilly outlined some of the issues he sees.
