Cavan councillor raised call for apps for emergencies

A Cavan councillor has raised a call for a dedicated app to for emergencies.

Shane P O'Reilly raised the issue at a recent meeting of Cavan County Council.

He called on the council to develop a downloadable app that could be used for vital information for local people.

This would be particularly useful in times of emergency, weather, disaster and resident communication.

Cllr O'Reilly noted that an app would streamline information, offering a single point for accessing updates on various issues.

In response the council noted it would take the points on board and look into the viability of offering an app.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr O'Reilly outlined his idea and the benefits it would offer.
