Cavan County Council calls for more supports to be put in place for family carers

Councillor Paddy McDonald says the "incredible work" of family carers can't be ignored.

Cavan County Council has called for more supports to be put in place to help family carers.

It's estimated that family carers save the State €20 billion a year and Sinn Féin's Paddy McDonald says the "incredible work they do can't be ignored".

Councillor McDonald also called for family carers to be prioritised for the covid-19 vaccine because of their close proximity to elderly and vulnerable persons.
