It was confirmed at a recent Cavan County Council meeting that a number of civic receptions will take place over the next few weeks.
Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council John Paul Feeley revealed that a Civic Reception is to be held to honour the installation of Blacklion native, Reverend David Nixon, as President of the Methodist Church in Ireland.
The event took place place last month.

Meanwhile, the civic reception was proposed by Cllr Sean Smith and seconded by Cllr Peter McVitty.
A second civic reception will be held to mark the centenary of An Garda Siochana.
Events are to be held nationwide to honour the organisation's foundation in 1922.
