A Co Cavan doctor and a Cavan landlord feature on the Revenue Commissioners’ latest tax defaulters’ list.
Revenue said that nationally 19 individuals and businesses paid a total of €6.2 million in tax, penalties and interest in the first three months of this year.
Patrick Halligan, a medical practitioner from Curkish, Bailieboro was found to have under-declared income tax to the tune of €134,183 following a review by Revenue.
When interest and penalties were added, the total sum owed rose to €288,057. There were three unpaid settlements as of March 31st.
One of them being €267,476 owed by Cavan landlord Kieran McMorrow, with an address at Apartment 2, The Plaza, College Street, Cavan.
Mr McMorrow was found to have under-declared income tax to the tune of €145,871 and after interest and penalties were added on the total was €267,476.
A British-based wholesaler of household good topped the Tax Defaulters list with a total bill of more than €1.1 million.
Also included on the latest list was tax rebate agents Online Tax Rebate Services Ltd, which failed to declare PAYE, PRSI, USC and income tax to the tune of €101,814. With penalties and interest included, the amount total for the Longford based business totalled €188,206.
