A Cavan local has been recognised for their work in increasing migrant representation in society.
Sridevi Balan, from Ballyhaise, was among a number of migrants to be celebrated after graduating from the Migrant Leadership Academy.
It’s run by the Immigrant Council of Ireland, and addresses the lack of migrant representation in Ireland’s social justice sector and builds the capacities of future migrant community leaders.
Sridevi was presented with a certificate by Minister of State for Community Development & Charities, Joe O’Brien, at a recent event which took place at EPIC: The Irish Emigration Museum, in Dublin.
Minister of State Joe O’Brien praised the “work the Immigrant Council does in promoting diversity and inclusion across all aspects of Irish life, especially politics”.
