Cavan Macra welcomes new CAP female farmers investment scheme

A Cavan Macra representative says the focus on women in farming in the new CAP announcement is "really excellent".

Female farmers are to be supported through an on-farm investment scheme, with a higher rate of grant aid.

For 2023 to 2027 TAMS will be made up of two funding levels, with the 60 per cent rate ring fenced for women in agriculture.

Speaking after Minister Charlie McConalogue visited Ballyjamesduff Mart for a CAP Consultation event, former Macra na Feirme President Thomas Duffy said it's an important step.
