'Journey Upstream', the new collection by award-winning poet Noel Monahan will be launched tonight at 8pm in the Council Chamber, Courthouse, Farnham St, Cavan.

Cavan poet Noel Monahan will launch his ninth collection of poems tonight. Noel, who was Poet Laureate for Cootehill in 2021 and has had his work on the Leaving Cert English curriculum, will be at the launch in Cavan Courthouse tonight when he will read from "Journeys Upstream". His latest work has strong Cavan themes running throughout it with its title coming from Noel's deep affiliation with Lough Erne. Several of his poems are as Gaeliege.

Tonight's launch will be hosted by poet Enda Wiley and will feature soprano Eileen Coyle and Cormac McCann on piano. Paurig Lynch who created the cover art on "Journeys Upstream" will also be in attendance, Noel said Cavan people should recognise some of the places and characters from his latest poems.
