The L2514 road at Loughduff in Co Cavan has reopened following a fatal road traffic collision involving a tractor. Gardaí in Cavan are investigating the incident which occurred at approximately 11pm last night.
A female aged in her late teens was fatally injured when the tractor collided with a ditch. Her body was removed from the scene to the mortuary in Cavan General Hospital where a post mortem will take place in due course. A male aged in his late teen who was driving the tractor was uninjured.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10.45pm and 11.15pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
