Cavan SPCA recently rescued a dog and 3 pups from a ditch following a report from a member of the public.
The west highland terrier cross was discovered in a tatty state after giving birth to 3 pups in a ditch.
It's not known if the dog has an owner however it's understood the dog is microchipped.

The dog and puppies are doing well and are in the care of Cavan SPCA.
Tina Boyle from Cavan SPCA says since the dog is microchipped, there must be a record kept somewhere.
