An initiative to capture stories from people in Cavan in continuing.
Cavan Storybank is an Oral History project capturing stories from across the county.
It's led by by Ri Ra Films Ltd, with Alan Bradley and Savina Donohoe, the project aims to build a lasting archive of local stories, echoing the 1937 folklore collection.

Community ambassadors have been trained and are already capturing inspiring interviews. We look forward to growing this valuable archive and working with the new archivist joining Cavan County Council in 2026.
In 2025, the Heritage Office launched several successful initiatives under Placing Heritage at the Heart of the Community, supported by The Heritage Council and Cavan County Council.
