The results of a recent survey to determine the demand for affordable and cost rental housing have been revealed.
Cllr Paul Gibbons asked Monaghan County Council for the results to be shared, along with plans to develop affordable and cost rental housing in Carrickmacross - Castleblayney MD.
The survey ran from 30th March to April 17th of this year.
There were 170 valid responses recorded, 120 of these were interested in affordable purchase and 50 were interested in Cost Rental.
There were 22 interested in 1-bed, 68 in 2-bed, 87 in 3-bed and 36 in 4-bed.
The location breakdown was 41% in Monagha, 19%in Carrickmacross, 15% in Castleblayney, 9% in Ballybay, 7% in Clones and 10% in other (Emyvale, Smithborough and Doohamlet).
It was noted that some questions allowed for more than one response.
