Over the summer, the Joe Finnegan Show received a significant number of calls from members of the public distressed about the late-night activity.

Monaghan Roads Policing Unit, Clones Gardai and the PSNI have been involved in a series of checkpoints and patrols along the A3 and N54, Clones to Cavan main road, over the last two weekends.

The joint operation was organised following ongoing complaints of "boy racers" causing disruption to other road users and residents in the area on both sides of the border.
