Monaghan County Council is hosting a civic reception this evening to celebrate the achievements of two local women at the recent World Master Athletics Championship.
The Championship, which took place in Finland, saw a team of 89 athletes, aged between 35 and 78, represent Ireland on the world master's stage in track and field events.
The Irish team recorded a massive medal haul, including gold medals for Co Monaghan-based runners Donna Evans and Denise Toner.

Donna picked up three gold and two silver medals, while Denise scooped two golds.
The civic reception will take place on the Monaghan Courthouse green space this evening at 6pm and all are welcome.
