Initial project approval for the significant expansion of the Cavan Town secondary school was approved recently.

The CMETB has confirmed that it will "immediately progress" works at Breifne College by appointing a design team.

Education Minister Norma Foley announced initial project approval and an all-in-grant for the significant expansion of the Cavan Town secondary school at the beginning of this month.

The project will include four general classrooms, seven SET rooms, and a number of specialised rooms, including three science labs, two engineering rooms, and an art room.
