A Co Cavan walking trail is to receive funding of €1,000 to maintain, improve, and promote the trail.
Minister Heather Humphreys today announced funding of close to €1 million to support and improve around 450 walking trails nationwide.
The Bailieborough Castle Lake Loop is one of the trails to benefit.

Senator Joe O'Reilly welcomed news from the Department of Rural and Community Development, and expressed hope that the "hidden gem" would "attract visitors to small businesses" in Baileborough.
Meanwhile, Minister Humphreys thanked the "community groups, landowners and everyone else involved in the development and maintenance of these outdoor facilities for their hard work and commitment to their community".
