CSO figures reveal diesel sales in Monaghan four times that of petrol

18 per cent of all petrol sales in Ireland in 2021 were in Dublin city.

CSO figures also show it also had the highest amount of sales of diesel throughout the year, at 13 per cent.

Rural areas had a higher proportion of diesel sales.

Monaghan's ratio in favour of diesel at four to one, while for Louth it was two to one.
