Diarmuid Wilson has served as a senator for the Administration Panel since September 2002.
This is the sixth time that the local man has been elected to the Seanad for Fianna Fáil.

He was also elected to Cavan County as a local representative back in 1999 prior to his national career in politics.

Senator Wilson had over 140,000 votes on count 14 and was deemed elected for another term of Seanad Eireann.
