'Elevated levels of manganese have been detected in the treated water'

Customers of Mountain Lodge Group Water Scheme are being reminded that a do not consume notice on local supply remains in place.

Boiling the water will not render it safe to drink.

As a result, alternative supply is being provided from a tanker at Laragh Hall (H12CX33) and Tunnyduff Community Centre (A82AD81).

Meanwhile Cavan County Council, in consultation with the HSE, issued the notice on August the 3rd last.

The move is due to elevated levels of manganese in the treated water.

Consumers are advised to find an alternative source for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or gargling.
