Statistics released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) have revealed that the border region had a 26% increase in milk values in 2024.
The region includes the counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo.
The value of the regions agricultural output at basic prices grew by €168 million, while the entrepreneurial income increased by 91%, to €527 million.
In 2024, milk contributed an additional €64 million to the value of agricultural outputs, livestock generated an extra €46 million, with the value of cattle rising by 4% to €381 million.
Meanwhile, sheep increased by 14% to €99 million, and the value of poultry rose by 9% to €159 million.
The IFA's Ulster / North Leinster Regional Chair, Frank Brady, said that the increase has come from supermarkets "realising" that farmers need to make a profit.
He said: "It has come from people thinking for 25 years that farmers don't need to make a profit, don't need to have a margin.
"And it came from a scarcity of food. That is why the supermarkets have realised, in order to keep farming it is, they have to go and start paying so that we have a margin.
"It's only a small margin, but it's a margin," he added.
