The virus causes mild-flu like symptoms and a chicken-pox like rash.

The first case of Monkeypox on the island of Ireland's been detected.

It's in the North, with a briefing of Northern Ireland health officials expected later.

A number of countries in Europe have reported cases, while Wales announced it's first case this morning.

The virus causes mild-flu like symptoms and a chicken-pox like rash.

Despite this, experts are reassuring parents they shouldn't be worried about their children getting Monkeypox because cases in youngsters are rare.

Immunologist Professor Luke O'Neill says scientists have established there has been "no change" in the virus over time, and added that this was "good news."
