Funeral of pedestrian killed in Emyvale collision to take place this morning

Gardaí have renewed their appeal into the fatal collision and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

The funeral mass will take place later this morning of local man Owen McKenna who passed away following a fatal road collision in Co Monaghan.

The collision, which involved a van and a pedestrian, occurred at approximately 6.55pm on Wednesday, October 26th.

Owen McKenna who was in his 90s was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries and later transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda in a critical condition.

However, Mr McKenna from Drumgeeny, Emyvale in Co Monaghan later passed away from his injuries last Friday.

His funeral mass will take place this morning at 11am in St Patrick's Church, Corracrin, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
