A Garda is being treated in hospital following an assault in Dublin city yesterday morning. He was responding to a public order incident on Berkley Street in the city centre just after 11 o'clock.
He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment, where he remains today. A second Garda was injured in the incident, but didn't require hospital treatment.
A man in his 20s was arrested and charged, and appeared in court this morning.
