Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 80s was struck by a car shortly after 7pm yesterday on the R165 at Bailieborough. She was taken to Cavan General Hospital where her condition is being described as critical.
Gardai remain at the scene where the road remains closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination. Local diversions are in place and motorists are being advised to exercise caution in the area.
Meanwhile, Gardai want to speak to anyone who was travelling on the road between 6:45pm and 7:15pm yesterday and who may have dash cam footage.
