Gardaí appeal for witnesses after steam roller driver dies in Monaghan road traffic collision

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a road death in Co. Monaghan involving a steam roller.

Peter Murphy, aged in his 50s from Stranooden, was the driver of the Road Roller Work Vehicle.

Gardaí were alerted to a road traffic collision involving a Road Roller Work Vehicle at around 9.45 am yesterday in Shankhill, Smithborough, Co. Monaghan.

They want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and are asking for dash-cam footage to be made available to them.

Meanwhile, the Health and Safety Authority has confirmed to Northern Sound that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
