History has been made today in Cavan as the first Pride event takes place in the town.
Hundreds have gathered at the event to show their support to the LGBT community in Cavan.

The event has just got underway this lunchtime with a march from the courthouse then followed by a gathering at the Market Square, where a rally will take place.
Organisers are highlighting the importance of regional prides as they say it shows visibility and solidarity.
Sean Walsh, one of the organisers says it’s wonderful to see so many out to show their support this afternoon.
He believes pride marches are all about celebrating the rights that the LGBTQ+ community have won while fighting for the rights that still need to achieved.
