The price of an average three-bed semi in counties Cavan and Monaghan is expected to rise by 5% in the next 12 months, according to a survey by Real Estate Alliance
Three-bed semi-detached homes in Cavan now cost an average of €198,000, up 10% on the December 2020 average of €180,000 and 1.5% in the final quarter of the year, the REA Average House Price Index shows.
In Co Monaghan, three-bed semi-detached homes cost an average of €145,000, up 14% on the December 2020 average of €127,500.
In Cavan, landlords exiting the market have accounted for almost one in four home sales over the past three months.
Cavan town prices were static in the last three months of the year, and rose by 7% to €160,000 over the last 12 months, with properties selling in four weeks on average.
Prices in Ballyconnell remained unchanged in quarter four of 2021, having risen by 24% to €130,000 in 2020, with properties in the area now selling in an average of four weeks.
