Housing remains one of the biggest issues facing families and individuals across the Ballybay-Clones MD.
That's according to Cathaoirleach of the MD councillor Sinead Flynn.
Cllr Flynn welcomed a number of housing developments which are coming along across the MD in areas such as in Clones, Newbliss, Smithboro and Scothouse.
Despite this, she says housing still remains one of the biggest issues facing so many local families and individuals.
According to Cllr Flynn, while we're seeing housing developments progress there continues to be a serious gap, partially for those perceived as the "squeezed middle."
Cllr Flynn acknowledged that a lot of the hard work is being done by Monaghan County Council, but the reality is this is years of catch up from a previous lack of funding and investment in housing.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Flynn called for a review of the income threshold for social housing to be carried out.
She is also called for more affordable housing and rental schemes, particularly in the Ballybay-Clones Municipal District:
